June 23 2012 - The Legalities

June 23rd ended up being an amazingly crazy wonderful day. Alan has been a bishop for years now, and I have always wanted him to be the one to officiate my marriage. Dave, though he's not mormon, agreed to it because he knew how much it meant to me. This made it really a wedding of only family and friends. No strangers. Well we got a call from Alan saying that he was going to be released as bishop on June 24th. With that, he would not be able to perform the wedding on July 13th. So after talking with Dave we decided to go crazy for a couple days and scramble to make something happen. Alan called up to the first presidency's office and tried to get permission to perform the ceremony on the 23rd. He called us back just a few days before to let us know that he had been given the go-ahead.

Now starts the crazy part. We called the parents and siblings and let them know we were going to have a small ceremony on June 23rd. My aunt Julie was amazing and let us use her back yard, which was extremely convienant. She lives only a few minutes away from us, so we could bring Butch with us :).

She went crazy and got a ton of cute things together for us at the last minute. Thankfully we got everyone there (Minus James and Curtis and Uncle Rob) and Cooper and Amanda were there to be by our sides :).

So June 23rd 2012 Dave and I officially became husband and wife. Still looking forward to July 13th, when we get to do the big ceremony with all our family and friends, but this was the day we got to say "I do". It was amazing.
